  • 1) Do I have enough money to retire?

At Bowman Wealth Management, we help determine whether you are on track for retirement by analyzing your savings, investments, income sources, lifestyle goals, and expected longevity. Our retirement planning process provides clear answers and actionable steps so you can retire with confidence.

  • 2) How long can I make my money last in retirement?
We use detailed retirement projections to estimate how long your assets can support your lifestyle under different market conditions. By accounting for spending, inflation, investment returns, and taxes, Bowman Wealth Management helps clients build strategies that seek to last throughout retirement.
  • The projections or other information generated regarding the likelihood of various investment outcomes are hypothetical in nature, do not reflect actual investment results and are not guarantees of future results. These figures may exclude commissions, sales charges or fees which, if included would have had a negative effect on the annual returns. Investing is subject to risk which may involve loss of principal. No strategy assures success or protects against loss. Past performance is no guarantee of future results.
  • 3) How much money do I need to live off the interest from my portfolio and not reduce my principal?
This depends on your spending needs and the sustainable income your investments can generate. Bowman Wealth Management helps determine an appropriate withdrawal strategy—often targeting long-term sustainability rather than short-term market performance.
  • 4) How much risk am I assuming with my current investments?
Investment risk includes market volatility, inflation risk, and the risk of falling short of your financial goals. We review your portfolio to ensure your risk level aligns with your time horizon, goals, and comfort level—not just market trends.
  • 5) What will happen to my assets if something happens to me?
Proper estate and beneficiary planning ensures your assets are distributed according to your wishes. Bowman Wealth Management helps coordinate beneficiary designations and estate planning strategies so your family is protected.
  • 6) Should I pay cash or finance a purchase?

The decision to pay cash or finance depends on interest rates, cash flow, tax considerations, and investment opportunity cost. We help clients evaluate both options within the context of their overall financial plan.

  • 7) How do I minimize my taxes?
Tax planning is a core part of what we do. Bowman Wealth Management focuses on tax-efficient investment strategies, retirement account planning, income timing, and long-term tax reduction—not just year-to-year savings.
  • 8) When should I take social security?
Social Security claiming decisions can significantly impact lifetime income. We analyze timing strategies, spousal benefits, tax implications, and retirement income needs to help clients maximize their Social Security benefits.

  • 9) How do I save for my child's education?
We help families save for education using strategies such as 529 plans and other investment accounts, while ensuring education savings do not jeopardize retirement goals. Our approach balances flexibility, tax efficiency, and long-term planning.
  • Prior to investing in a 529 Plan investors should consider whether the investor's or designated beneficiary's home state offers any state tax or other state benefits such as financial aid, scholarship funds, and protection from creditors that are only available for investments in such state's qualified tuition program. Withdrawals used for qualified expenses are federally tax free. Tax treatment at the state level may vary. Please consult with your tax advisor before investing.
  • 10) Should I contribute to a Roth or Traditional IRA?
The right choice depends on your current tax rate, future income expectations, and retirement goals. Bowman Wealth Management helps determine whether Roth, Traditional, or a combination strategy is most effective for your situation.
  • 11) Should I get a Medicare or Medicare Advantage plan?
Choosing the right Medicare coverage depends on healthcare needs, costs, and provider preferences. While we don’t sell insurance, we help clients understand the financial implications so they can make informed Medicare decisions.
  • 12) Should I do a Roth Conversion?
Roth conversions can reduce future taxes and required minimum distributions, but they are not right for everyone. Bowman Wealth Management evaluates whether a Roth conversion strategy makes sense based on your tax situation and long-term goals.
  • Traditional IRA account owners have considerations to make before performing a Roth IRA conversion. These primarily include income tax consequences on the converted amount in the year of conversion, withdrawal limitations from a Roth IRA, and income limitations for future contributions to a Roth IRA. In addition, if you are required to take a required minimum distribution (RMD) in the year you convert, you must do so before converting to a Roth IRA.
  • 13) How do I ensure my family is financially cared for if something happens to me?
Financial protection includes proper insurance planning, income replacement strategies, and coordinated estate planning. We help ensure your family has strategies that seek clarity, protection, and financial independence.
  • 14) What funds should I select in my employer's retirement plan?
Employer retirement plans often have limited investment options. Bowman Wealth Management helps educate clients regarding their 401(k) or other employer plans to work toward long-term retirement success.
  • 15) When can I retire?

Retirement timing depends on savings, income needs, healthcare costs, and personal goals. We model multiple retirement scenarios to help clients understand when retirement is realistically possible—and what steps can potentially help them get there sooner.
